Trick

50-50 → Backside 180 Out

An aligned 50-50 slide followed by a backside half-turn exit with a blind landing.

HOW TO DO IT

50-50 → Backside180 Out

An aligned slide with backside half-turn at the end and a less visible switch landing.

Preparation and setting

Stable50-50, backside half-turn and switch stopping.

Execution / application sequence

  1. Rehearse counterrotation and the outgoing landing direction.
  2. Enter with flat aligned support.
  3. Prepare backside release without drifting off the feature.
  4. Pop clear of the end.
  5. Bring the board into switch alignment.
  6. Absorb and regain travel vision without continuing to spin..

Learning and practice

Practise the exit on gentle snow before linking to a familiar feature. Keep the initial feature low and the slide duration short.

Errors, limits and corrections

Late preparation: use a neutral exit. Overrotation after contact: reduce upper-body carry-through. Blind landing drift: restore a predictable line.

Observable checks

The end release and switch landing are deliberate, with no rescue pivot.

editorial review notes

Continuing to rotate after landing is identified as an error.
