Trick

50-50 → Frontside 180 Out

An aligned 50-50 slide followed by a frontside half-turn off the end of the feature.

HOW TO DO IT

50-50 → Frontside180 Out

An aligned slide followed by frontside half-turn from feature end. Preparation uses counterrotation, not edge pressure on metal.

Preparation and setting

Stable main and switch50-50, independently controlled180 and a familiar suitable feature.

Execution / application sequence

  1. Rehearse the upper/lower opposition on snow.
  2. Enter aligned and flat-based.
  3. Contain board rotation while preparing the upper body for exit.
  4. Release from the end with modest pop.
  5. Complete the half-turn clear of support.
  6. Absorb aligned in switch and ride away..

Learning and practice

Start with an imaginary feature-end reference, then training rehearsal and a familiar low feature. Preserve a neutral exit when preparation is late.

Errors, limits and corrections

Turning while still supported may catch an edge. Overwinding spoils slide alignment: reduce range. Continuing after landing: quiet the shoulders.

Observable checks

The slide stays aligned until release and the rider chooses a controlled switch finish.

HOW TO DO IT

50-50 → Frontside180 Out

Reported/source-indexed example: 50-50 → Frontside180 Out. Reira Iwabuchi, rainbow rail in the same Silvaplana run.

Preparation and setting

This is performance evidence or an original named directory example, not a readiness standard or complete teaching lesson.

Known phases / unresolved execution

  1. No complete source-specific execution sequence is established; retain this item as an open editorial record.

Learning and practice

Use the example to connect existing skills and source context. No full reproduction pathway is supplied; specialist or component lessons cannot fill its missing timing by inference.

Errors, limits and corrections

Performance enriches J01; no additional tutorial mechanics.

Observable checks

Reported facts and unknowns are explicitly separated. The example is not promoted to a full tutorial.

01

teaching summary — coaching review required

The lesson develops counterrotation on flat snow, rehearses timing against an imaginary feature, then transfers the movement to a familiar suitable feature while preserving alignment through the slide.

02

editorial review notes

Do not assume jump edge preparation transfers unchanged to a rail.
