Term

Blocked practice

Practice organised in repeated attempts at the same task before changing tasks.

GLOSSARY · Learning, analysis & assessment

In blocked practice the rider repeats the same task many times in a row — for example ten toe-side J-turns — before moving on. It helps early learning and builds confidence quickly.

Context and distinction

Blocked practice repeats one task; variable practice mixes tasks and conditions. Blocked practice can look good in the lesson but transfer less to new terrain.
