Trick

Canadian Bacon

Rear hand reaches from behind through the legs to the toe edge.

HOW TO DO IT

Canadian Bacon

Rear hand reaches from behind through the legs to toe edge. FIS adds between-bindings contact and rear-leg extension; TransWorld uses a frontside-shifty example.

Preparation and setting

Use comfortable stationary positioning or the appropriate supervised training-board context first. For any snow application, an independently controlled take-off, flight and landing must already exist; this card does not prescribe a new jump size or trajectory.

Execution / application sequence

  1. Establish the selected contact in comfortable positioning before changing airborne demand.
  2. Rehearse the rear-route reach in a compact position.
  3. Establish toe contact without substituting heel edge.
  4. Explore a small source-attributed leg or shifty variation.
  5. Return and release..
  6. For a technically reviewed snow application, preserve the established take-off, take the hold only after departure, then release and recover board alignment before contact.

Learning and practice

Learn contact, route and modest styling as separate tasks. Rehearse the return as deliberately as the hold. Add a short contact to a familiar controlled air only after the specific version has been technically reviewed; shorten or omit the hold if landing organization becomes rushed.

Errors, limits and corrections

Ordinary rear-hand toe contact omits the route. Do not force both publishers' styling into a mandatory composite.

Observable checks

The intended hand, contact zone and route are distinguishable; styling is modest and recoverable; the hold is deliberately released before landing.

Additional teaching summary — coaching review required

Tim Eddy's cited example adds a frontside shifty. The shifty is styling evidence, not a required spin or mandatory element of every Canadian Bacon.

Additional editorial review notes

Preserve both source descriptions; do not collapse this into a generic toe-edge grab.
