Method

Conditions: fog; flat light; snowfall; wind; temperature changes

A fall changes control and traffic exposure. Recovery is planned around surroundings and injury concerns, not rushing back onto the line. Surface description is a decision input, not a promise of consistent grip. Groomed, icy, wet, crusted and wind-affected snow can coexist along one line.

HOW TO DO IT

Conditions: fog; flat light; snowfall; wind; temperature changes

A fall changes control and traffic exposure. Recovery is planned around surroundings and injury concerns, not rushing back onto the line. Surface description is a decision input, not a promise of consistent grip. Groomed, icy, wet, crusted and wind-affected snow can coexist along one line.

Preparation and setting

Use the setting and competence boundary below. This is a page-level learning/application text; use the exact linked movement for reproduction instructions.

Execution / application sequence

  1. Check surroundings before moving.
  2. Move clear when able and appropriate.
  3. Check whether equipment or injury prevents continued riding.
  4. Use local assistance when needed.
  5. Restart only with a clear line.
  6. Observe the actual route and visibility.
  7. Identify a lower-demand place to sample the surface.
  8. Choose a line with room to control speed.
  9. Use the matching existing snow-adaptation lesson.
  10. Reassess at a change in aspect, shade, weather or traffic.
  11. Stop when the intended line cannot be read.

Learning and practice

Record observations in plain terms and compare the board response without treating a resort-wide label as a local measurement.

Errors, limits and corrections

A forecast or surface label does not guarantee the next landing or turn.

Observable checks

The page-specific task, conditions, known components and missing procedure can be explained. Successful application is checked in the actual task, not inferred from reading.
