Delamination
Separation between layers of the board's construction.
GLOSSARY · Equipment, setup & maintenance
Delamination is when the board's layers — core, fibreglass, top sheet, base or edges — come apart, often after an impact or water getting into a crack. It weakens the board and should be checked by a shop.
Context and distinction
Delamination is structural damage; scratches to the base are surface damage repaired with P-Tex.
