HOW TO DO IT
Different-Foot Edge Rehearsal
Distinguish whole-board tilt from torsional action near one binding.
Preparation and setting
Level secured board with balance support if needed; movement small and comfortable.
Exercise sequence
- Establish modest same-edge action with both legs.
- Keep trailing action steady enough to notice a difference.
- Change leading-leg action a little and observe the leading-end response.
- Restore similar engagement at both feet.
- Repeat on the other edge; avoid forced knee twisting or shoulder impulse.
Transfer
Use a smaller version in D17, then assess whether the garland entry and return are predictable.
Errors addressed
Both legs always act identically; Abrupt whole-body lurch; Twist confused with nose/tail bend.
Success check
Rider can describe and demonstrate a small end-to-end difference without losing support.
Simplify when needed
Compare actions off-board or use an observer; do not demand visible deformation from stiff equipment.
