Term
Forward lean
The forward inclination setting of the binding highback or the relevant boot component.
GLOSSARY · Equipment, setup & maintenance
Forward lean tilts the highback of the binding forward so the rider's knees are pushed into a flexed position. More forward lean gives quicker heel-side response; less is more relaxed and forgiving for freestyle.
Context and distinction
Forward lean is a binding setting; leaning forward with the body is a movement. They affect each other but are not the same thing.
