HOW TO DO IT
Frontside 180 — Turn-and-pop Drill
The publisher introduces a small pop during an already-started frontside surface turn. Around 90 is an illustrative departure reference, not a required airborne 180.
Preparation and setting
No-jump frontside drill and small ollie.
Execution / application sequence
- Recreate the slow heel-turn approach.
- Begin the shoulder-guided surface turn.
- Add a light upward pop after rotation has begun.
- Keep the torso organized over the board.
- Receive the switch landing.
- Recover ordinary travel.
Learning and practice
Move the departure earlier gradually. Clearly distinguish surface rotation from the airborne remainder.
Errors and corrections
Calling the whole drill airborne 180 misstates it. Body trails board: reduce demand and recover centre. Sharp twist without lift: rebuild pop.
Observable checks
Supported and airborne portions can be identified separately.
