Trick

Frontside 270 In — Feature

A frontside three-quarter-turn entry into transverse support on a feature.

HOW TO DO IT

Frontside270 In — Source Progression

Three-quarter frontside entry receives transverse support. The source develops board-off rehearsal, training bar, snow and suitable box before side-entry geometry.

Preparation and setting

Established180In, selected supported target and independentFS rotation under instruction.

Execution / application sequence

  1. Rehearse270 and contain further rotation.
  2. Use target-support training.
  3. Distinguish raised-edge snow rehearsal from flat feature base.
  4. On the chosen box clear the entry and receive the selected support.
  5. Contain rotation through contact.
  6. Use a previously established simple exit..

Learning and practice

Build readiness per stage. The exact side approach and support depend on the example; centre and rear-foot alternatives correspond to different exits.

Errors, limits and corrections

Overrotation at support: reduce winding and improve containment. Low clearance: simpler entry. Snow edge cue transferred to metal: restore flat contact.

Observable checks

Progression and actual example geometry remain explicit. Independent moving-feature review required.

HOW TO DO IT

Backside270 In — Source Progression

Backside three-quarter entry into transverse support. Board-offBS360 pattern, training bar and easy-box preparation are source stages.

Preparation and setting

Backside180In option, establishedBS movement pattern and target support.

Execution / application sequence

  1. Rehearse the backside entry pattern.
  2. Identify the intended support before adding a feature.
  3. Use training reception and controlled finish.
  4. Practise snow context separately.
  5. Clear the chosen entry and receive appropriate flat contact.
  6. Use the reviewed exit..

Learning and practice

Do not progress to side-entry rails merely because a training attempt succeeds. Clearance and line are separate readiness checks.

Errors, limits and corrections

Board hits support: reduce geometry demand and rebuild pop. Continued spin: organise containment. Guessing exact support from title: use the example.

Observable checks

Direction known; exact feature/support version remains tied to demonstration review.

01

teaching summary — coaching review required

S1 builds from board-off movement rehearsal to Balance Bar, snow butter rehearsal and a suitable wide box before a street-style entry. The rehearsal pauses at 270 and finishes with another quarter-turn toward normal riding stance. The box progression uses Frontside 180 In / Switch Backside 180 Out as preparation. The street example approaches backside with heel-edge departure, then establishes flat-base contact. Snow-butter edge management differs from flat box/rail contact; these stages are not proof of readiness for any street feature.

Additional teaching summary — coaching review required

Training-board lesson (S2): Balance Bar placed behind the rider; rehearse landing near board centre; stop the shoulders around 180 while the hips complete the entry. Its alternative exit setup uses rear-foot support. Centre and rear-foot landing cues belong to different exits and are not universal instructions.
