HOW TO DO IT

Frontside 540 — park jump

An upright frontside one-and-a-half turn, departing main stance and landing switch.

Preparation and setting

Consistent straight airs, frontside180/360 and switch landings on a suitable familiar feature; agree the approach with a coach.

Execution / application sequence

  1. Inspect the jump and establish a repeatable straight-air line.
  2. In this publisher's example, set up on toes and move to heels for departure.
  3. Coordinate leg-driven lift and rotational release at the lip without turning the board sideways while still supported.
  4. Follow the spin through the first full turn, remaining compact.
  5. Recognize the returning landing and finish the remaining half-turn.
  6. Release any optional hold, recover aligned switch posture and absorb contact.

Learning and practice

Practise approach and departure separately, then compare the first360 and final180 phases. Add a grab only after departure and landing are repeatable.

Errors, limits and corrections

Early spin reduces pop; a rushed grab disrupts axis; do not substitute a snow pivot for the airborne target.

Observable checks

Stable line, upright axis, full airborne amount and controlled switch ride-away.

01

teaching summary — coaching review required

The source relates the movement to Frontside 360 and Frontside 180, using one documented toe-edge setup, heel-edge departure, sustained airborne organization and aligned switch landing.

02

editorial review notes

The cited edge sequence is one documented example, not a universal requirement.
