Term
Garland
Repeated partial turn actions that release and re-engage the same edge without completing an edge change.
GLOSSARY · Turns & riding control
In a garland the rider starts a turn toward the fall line and then returns to the same edge before completing it, repeating this across the slope so the track looks like a garland. It practises turn starts without committing to a full edge change.
Context and distinction
Garlands stay on one edge; linked turns change edges. A garland is a learning exercise, not a turn type used for everyday riding.
