HOW TO DO IT

Half Cab → Backside 360

Two spins with snow contact between them: switch FS180, then main-stance BS360. It must not be imported as a single airborne 540.

Preparation and setting

Each component landed independently and a controlled switch approach.

Execution / application sequence

  1. Enter switch on a gently organized line.
  2. Make a light Half Cab with enough control to prepare the next movement.
  3. Absorb its main-stance landing without stopping or rushing.
  4. Reorganize pressure and gaze for backside departure.
  5. Pop into the BS360 and align the final landing.
  6. Ride away and reset before repeating.

Learning and practice

First link Half Cab to a straight pop. Add a backside half-turn, then the established full turn only when the transition remains deliberate.

Errors and corrections

Heavy first landing: lighten the first pop and improve absorption. Second movement rushed: insert a deliberate preparation beat. Accumulating uncontrolled rotation: reset and practise both spins separately.

Observable checks

Two distinct departures and a controlled contact transition are identifiable. Momentum helps but does not substitute for a prepared second pop.

teaching summary — coaching review required

The lesson establishes both spins independently, then develops a lighter first movement, a gently curved approach and a prompt transition into the second pop.

editorial review notes

This is a linked combination with snow contact, not a single airborne 540.
