Term

High-Rotation Jump Spins — 900 to 2160

Rotation magnitudes above 720 reported in competition jump spins; the degree label describes rotation amount, not the axis.

GLOSSARY

Spins above 720 — 900, 1080, 1260 and beyond — are named by their rotation in degrees. 1080 is three full rotations, 1440 four, and so on. They appear in elite big air and slopestyle.

Context and distinction

The number gives the amount of rotation, not the axis: a 1440 can be upright or corked.

editorial review notes

Arithmetic only: 900 = 2.5 turns, 1080 = 3, 1260 = 3.5, 1440 = 4, 1620 = 4.5, 1800 = 5, 1980 = 5.5, 2160 = 6. Orientation bookkeeping, not proof of an execution or its axis. No 'largest ever' or current-record claim; this is not an upper bound. Cork/flip labels are not stripped from other performances to manufacture flat-spin evidence. 1620 is listed in the batch with Silvaplana 2022 examples whose individual labels were not supplied.
