Method

Jump problems: speed judgement; take-off; rotation; landing

Whole-body spin, counterrotation and board-relative change are different observations. Internal action alone cannot create net whole-body angular momentum in free flight. Take-off and landing geometry determine trajectory demands. Pop timing and approach speed cannot be prescribed from a feature label alone. Analysis separates observable board/rider action from an interpretation of causes. An error often appears after an earlier disturbance in approach or timing.

HOW TO DO IT

Preparation and setting

Use the setting and competence boundary below. This is a page-level learning/application text; use the exact linked movement for reproduction instructions.

Execution / application sequence

  1. Identify headings of shoulders, hips and board.
  2. Locate the supported departure.
  3. Separate airborne turn from snow-contact pivot.
  4. Use the source-specific spin lesson.
  5. Inspect the feature and runout.
  6. Use SPIN and the exact departure card.
  7. Establish a repeatable straight air.
  8. Add one demand only with appropriate feature assessment.
  9. Describe the task and conditions.
  10. Identify approach, initiation, support, release and finish.
  11. Locate the earliest observable deviation.
  12. State one plausible cause as a hypothesis.
  13. Choose a simpler task that tests that hypothesis.
  14. Compare the new outcome.

Learning and practice

Use a sequence rather than one dramatic frame. Confirm that the cue changes the board response, not only the appearance.

Errors, limits and corrections

A still image cannot establish timing, whole-body momentum or a completed landing.

Observable checks

The page-specific task, conditions, known components and missing procedure can be explained. Successful application is checked in the actual task, not inferred from reading.
