Method
Landing Sequence Review
Recording board orientation before contact, first contact, available joint movement and recovery.
HOW TO DO IT
Landing Sequence Review
Landing-sequence review separates board alignment, first contact, joint absorption and recovery. Absorption is controlled movement, not merely collapsing low after impact.
Preparation and setting
A known movement task and a suitable observable landing.
How to understand / apply it
- Record pre-contact board heading.
- Observe initial support/contact.
- Note available ankle, knee and hip motion.
- Observe whether flexion absorbs or collapses.
- Check the next usable action and ride-away.
- Compare with the chosen technique pathway.
How to learn / practise
Use controlled small familiar airs for observation before more demanding drops. Keep geometry comparable between trials.
Errors and corrections
One low landing posture cannot show timing. Comparing different feature sizes without noting them confuses diagnosis.
Observable checks
The record explains contact and recovery with a phase-specific observation.

editorial review notes
Separates absorption from an uncontrolled collapse; compare attempts only on comparable geometry and conditions. Not a drop lesson.
