Trick

Nose Press — Feature

A lengthwise slide on a feature supported toward the nose, with the tail lifted.

HOW TO DO IT

Nose Press: Snow Preparation and Ride-On Box

Nose-supported lengthwise travel with the tail lifted.

Preparation and setting

Controlled 50-50 for the box application; begin with stationary and slow snow practice.

How to do it

  1. Start centred on a flat base.
  2. Move hips toward nose support while keeping the back upright.
  3. Let the loaded position lift the tail; prioritize a small stable press.
  4. On an easy wide ride-on box, enter aligned before moving into the press.
  5. Maintain support above the feature without rolling onto a metal edge.
  6. Recenter for a simple exit and absorb the landing.

Learn it

Stationary position → slow moving snow press → simple box → later popped entries.

Errors and corrections

Large unstable lift: reduce it. Folding the back instead of moving hips: rebuild stationary support.

Cues

Hips to support; quiet torso; small and clean.

Successful attempt

Tail stays visibly lifted while the support and exit remain controlled.

Boundary

Recentring for a simple exit is editorial adaptation; the source also offers later popped exits.

teaching summary — coaching review required

S9 progression: stationary position, moving snow press, then an easy wide ride-on box. Move the hips toward nose support with the back upright and begin with a modest controlled lift; add popped entries after stable ride-on presses. Snow preparation and feature execution are separate contexts; lift heights are not a pass/fail standard.
