Ollie Timing on Rollers

Developing ollie timing on flat ground and rollers before park-jump application.

HOW TO DO IT

Ollie Timing on Rollers

Roller ollie timing places an established movement relative to changing terrain. The roller assists a timing exercise but does not replace the component skill.

Preparation and setting

Controlled basic ollie and a small visible roller.

Execution / practice sequence

  1. Inspect the crest and runout.
  2. Choose the desired release location.
  3. Approach with a stable line.
  4. Begin loading early enough for the tail release at the intended point.
  5. Recover the board beneath support.
  6. Compare intention and actual departure.

How to learn / practise

Use a harmless visible snow reference and one familiar shape. Adjust timing before changing speed or feature.

Errors and corrections

Loading after the board has already left the intended departure loses the task. Forcing height conceals timing errors.

Observable checks

The release occurs where intended and the ride-away remains controlled.
