Term

Progression

A planned sequence of tasks with increasing or changing demands.

GLOSSARY · Learning, analysis & assessment

A progression is a series of steps that build on each other, such as straight glide → J-turn → linked turns. Each step adds challenge only when the previous one is controlled.

Context and distinction

A progression increases demand; a regression reduces it. Progressions are guides, not fixed ladders every rider must follow.
