Term
Rebound
Elastic return after the board has been bent and loaded.
GLOSSARY · Movement & mechanics
When a board is bent — in a carve or by loading the tail — it stores energy and springs back as the pressure is released. Riders use rebound to add pop to ollies and to help the board out of one turn into the next.
Context and distinction
Rebound comes from the board; pop is the rider's active contribution to take-off. A good ollie usually combines both.
