Term
Recentering
Adjusting the rider-board relationship to regain useful support for the next action.
GLOSSARY · Movement & mechanics
After a turn, a landing or a recovery, the rider is often slightly behind, forward or to one side. Recentring brings the body back over the board into a balanced, ready position so the next movement can start cleanly.
Context and distinction
Recentring is a return to a functional position, not a fixed pose. It is often part of the transition between turns.
