Roast Beef

Rear hand passes between the legs to the heel edge.

HOW TO DO IT

Roast Beef

Rear hand passes between the legs to heel edge between bindings. Blake Paul's directory example extends the rear leg.

Preparation and setting

Use comfortable stationary positioning or the appropriate supervised training-board context first. For any snow application, an independently controlled take-off, flight and landing must already exist; this card does not prescribe a new jump size or trajectory.

Execution / application sequence

  1. Establish the selected contact in comfortable positioning before changing airborne demand.
  2. Bring the compact board toward the hand.
  3. Thread the rear hand between the legs without forcing wrist range.
  4. Establish heel contact.
  5. Add modest rear-leg lengthening only after the hold.
  6. Release and recover flexion..
  7. For a technically reviewed snow application, preserve the established take-off, take the hold only after departure, then release and recover board alignment before contact.

Learning and practice

Learn contact, route and modest styling as separate tasks. Rehearse the return as deliberately as the hold. Add a short contact to a familiar controlled air only after the specific version has been technically reviewed; shorten or omit the hold if landing organization becomes rushed.

Errors, limits and corrections

Grabbing ahead of the front foot matches another contact zone. A forced wrist turn is not required by this definition.

Observable checks

The intended hand, contact zone and route are distinguishable; styling is modest and recoverable; the hold is deliberately released before landing.

Additional teaching summary — coaching review required

Blake Paul's cited example emphasizes extending the rear leg while holding the between-the-legs heel-edge grab. This is a styling note, not a verified takeoff or landing progression.
