Rocking Horse
HOW TO DO IT
Rocking Horse
Alternating front-hand nose and rear-hand tail holds repeat in one air, with either starting order. It is sequential.
Preparation and setting
Use comfortable stationary positioning or the appropriate supervised training-board context first. For any snow application, an independently controlled take-off, flight and landing must already exist; this card does not prescribe a new jump size or trajectory.
Execution / application sequence
- Establish the selected contact in comfortable positioning before changing airborne demand.
- Learn both end holds independently.
- Rehearse one nose-to-tail or tail-to-nose transfer with a full release.
- Recover after the second hold before adding more alternation..
- For a technically reviewed snow application, preserve the established take-off, take the hold only after departure, then release and recover board alignment before contact.
Learning and practice
Learn contact, route and modest styling as separate tasks. Rehearse the return as deliberately as the hold. Add a short contact to a familiar controlled air only after the specific version has been technically reviewed; shorten or omit the hold if landing organization becomes rushed.
Errors, limits and corrections
Pursuing maximum repetitions sacrifices recovery. Simultaneous nose/tail contact is a different organization.
Observable checks
The intended hand, contact zone and route are distinguishable; styling is modest and recoverable; the hold is deliberately released before landing.

Additional editorial review notes
Sequential, not simultaneous. The source's 'as many as possible' is not a training target.
