Roller-to-Bank Pump Track

Flexion/extension combined with turning on a purpose-built track.

HOW TO DO IT

Roller-to-Bank Pump Track

A roller-to-bank pump track connects terrain-following leg action with turning. Its learning objective is coordinated contact and direction, not maximum speed.

Preparation and setting

Purpose-built learning track; established single roller and bank tasks.

Execution / practice sequence

  1. Read the next roller and bank.
  2. Coordinate the chosen roller movement.
  3. Recover support before the direction change.
  4. Guide the banked turn.
  5. Prepare the following feature.
  6. Finish with control.

How to learn / practise

Practise the roller and bank separately, then a short combined sequence. Add features rather than speed first.

Errors and corrections

Carrying the previous feature's timing into the next without adjustment creates late responses. Too much task load: shorten the track section.

Observable checks

Contact, direction change and recovery connect in the intended sequence.
