HOW TO DO IT

Short Push–Recover and Small-Step Circuit

Develop one-foot mobility with recoverable pushes and reliable pauses.

Preparation and setting

Nearly flat clear snow, leading foot secured; climb segment only on a very gentle short incline.

Exercise sequence

  1. Push with free foot a short distance.
  2. Recover it beside the board and pause.
  3. Repeat without lengthening the stride.
  4. Rehearse free-foot placement against rear binding/traction area.
  5. For a small climb, set supportive edge, step free foot uphill, transfer support, lift/place board higher and reset edge.

Transfer

Use before D11 and practical flat-section travel; lift procedures remain separate.

Errors addressed

Overlong skating lunge; Board slips downhill on climb; Free-foot placement search.

Success check

Rider moves and pauses without escalating rotation or unwanted downhill motion.

Simplify when needed

Reduce to one push or one step at a time; omit climb until pauses are stable.
