HOW TO DO IT
Single Toe C-Turn with a Known Finish
Join heel release to supported toe shaping and stopping.
Preparation and setting
Heel traverse, both-edge stops and toe J-turn reliable; gentle clear route.
Exercise sequence
- Choose toe finish and rehearse view.
- Traverse slowly on heel edge.
- Release progressively into chosen path.
- Maintain support as toe-side control develops.
- Round with established toe action and trailing-leg cooperation.
- Stop and identify release, support, confidence or finish as the limiting part.
Transfer
Use in linked pairs when both individual turns and their stops are reliable.
Errors addressed
Aborted downhill entry; Ineffective toe engagement; Waist collapse; Opposite-edge catch at finish.
Success check
Repeated toe turns end deliberately without tiptoe, blind continuation or forced knee action.
Simplify when needed
Heel D17 for entry, D19 for finish and D13 for toe stop; simplify terrain if fear persists.
