HOW TO DO IT

Small Fore/Aft Exploration

Distinguish redistribution along the board from torso reach or vertical loading.

Preparation and setting

Level stationary board; both feet secured; no nose/tail lift required.

Exercise sequence

  1. Notice support beneath each sole.
  2. Move pelvis a small distance toward the nose while coordinating legs.
  3. Return to the original support.
  4. Repeat toward tail and return.
  5. Compare with a shoulder reach that leaves the pelvis unchanged; explain the difference.

Transfer

Use the same modest awareness during a slow diagonal or organising traverse; do not prescribe a permanent weight percentage.

Errors addressed

Back-seat stance; Shoulder-only forward movement; Permanent front-foot loading.

Success check

Rider explores both directions and returns without tipping, forcing a press or needing external pulling.

Simplify when needed

Shrink the movement and restore MFRC-02 if the rider loses stationary balance.
