Term
Stiffy
HOW TO DO IT
Stiffy
A two-leg extension modifier. The name alone does not fix a hand or edge contact.
Preparation and setting
Use comfortable stationary positioning or the appropriate supervised training-board context first. For any snow application, an independently controlled take-off, flight and landing must already exist; this card does not prescribe a new jump size or trajectory.
Execution / application sequence
- Establish the selected contact in comfortable positioning before changing airborne demand.
- Rehearse a compact shape first.
- Extend both legs within a comfortable range.
- Restore soft knees and board alignment before landing..
- For a technically reviewed snow application, preserve the established take-off, take the hold only after departure, then release and recover board alignment before contact.
Learning and practice
Learn contact, route and modest styling as separate tasks. Rehearse the return as deliberately as the hold. Add a short contact to a familiar controlled air only after the specific version has been technically reviewed; shorten or omit the hold if landing organization becomes rushed.
Errors, limits and corrections
A large rigid extension delays recovery. Learn a small recoverable change before adding a hold.
Observable checks
The intended hand, contact zone and route are distinguishable; styling is modest and recoverable; the hold is deliberately released before landing.
