HOW TO DO IT

Switch Backside 180 → Frontside 360

A switch backside half-turn followed, after contact, by a main-stance frontside full-turn. Promptly recovering forward vision organizes the second departure.

Preparation and setting

Both spins independently, switch control and a reliable blind half-turn landing.

Execution / application sequence

  1. Enter switch with a clear outgoing line.
  2. Complete SWBS180 and absorb into main stance.
  3. Recover forward gaze before winding into the next action.
  4. Prepare and pop the FS360 rather than dragging through the contact.
  5. Land the full turn aligned in main stance.
  6. Continue a controlled glide.

Learning and practice

Link SWBS180 to a neutral ollie before adding the second spin. Practise the gaze and pressure reset at low rotational demand.

Errors and corrections

Looking backward too long: regain the outgoing reference after the first landing. Immediate uncontrolled pivot: give the second pop its own preparation. Low second jump: reduce effort spent in the entry.

Observable checks

The contact between spins is purposeful and both amounts are visible. The sequence is not described as an airborne 540.

01

teaching summary — coaching review required

After the first blind landing, the lesson emphasizes promptly directing the gaze forwards and organizing the next ollie before the full rotation.

editorial review notes

Preserve the snow-contact transition; do not classify the whole combination as an airborne 540.
