Term
Transfer of learning
The extent to which learning in one task supports performance in another.
GLOSSARY · Learning, analysis & assessment
Transfer is when practising one thing helps another — for example flatground ollies helping takeoffs on jumps. Coaches choose drills that transfer to the real goal.
Context and distinction
Transfer is the effect between tasks; transfer in terrain vocabulary is moving between features. They share a word but are unrelated.
