Term

Turn completion

The finishing phase that prepares the transition to the next action.

GLOSSARY · Turns & riding control

Turn completion is the last part of a turn, where the board comes across the slope, speed is controlled and the rider prepares to release the edge. How far a turn is completed largely controls speed.

Context and distinction

Completion is one of three turn phases with initiation and shaping. A turn that is not completed tends to gather speed down the fall line.
