HOW TO DO IT

Turn Pairs, Organising Traverse and Short Chains

Develop linking while preserving recentring, shape and a final stopping plan.

Preparation and setting

Both individual C-turns repeatable; suitable familiar gentle corridor.

Exercise sequence

  1. Plan pair and final stop.
  2. Complete first turn with controlled movement retained.
  3. Use brief traverse to restore usable support and view next path.
  4. Release progressively and develop second turn.
  5. Stop deliberately after pair.
  6. Repeat and shorten traverse only while control remains.
  7. Add another pair before committing to a long descent.

Transfer

Then vary shape using D23; greater pitch and corridor restrictions need new judgement.

Errors addressed

Cumulative acceleration; Unsupported dive inside; Stationary rebuild after every turn; Rushed weaker transition.

Success check

Short chain retains predictable speed, supported transitions and chosen stop.

Simplify when needed

Restore brief traverse or separate D20/D21 if one transition fails.
