Term
Waist width
The board width at its narrow central region.
GLOSSARY · Equipment, setup & maintenance
Waist width is measured at the narrowest point of the board, between the bindings. It should match boot size: too narrow causes boot-out, too wide makes edge changes slower.
Context and distinction
Waist width is the narrowest width; nose and tail widths are larger because of the sidecut.
