Weddle / Historical Mute: Straight-Air Application
Front hand holding the toe edge between the bindings.
How to do it
- Complete the balanced takeoff in module G.
- Bring the knees and board toward the body.
- Meet the toe edge with the front hand.
- Hold without pulling the torso into an unwanted turn.
- Release for the established landing.
Learn it
Locate the front-hand contact stationary, then add it to repeatable compact airs.
Errors/correction
Contact outside the intended zone: return to stationary mapping. Premature reach: restore takeoff first.
Cues
Front hand; toe edge; compact air.
Successful attempt
Correct contact and stable release.
Boundary
Retain “Mute” in original source attribution. Do not silently resolve Slob naming conflicts through this card.
Common grab learning module — shared preparation for grab cards
The six following grab cards use this shared teaching block rather than repeating a generic jump lesson.
Preparation
Repeatable straight airs with a compact airborne position. Use suitable training equipment for off-snow rehearsal; facility coaching governs trampoline use.
Learning sequence
- Identify the exact contact while stationary.
- Rehearse bringing the board toward the hand.
- On a familiar straight air, complete takeoff before reaching.
- Start with a brief correct touch, then a controlled hold.
- Release in time to return to the established landing organization.
Errors
Reaching too early reduces pop; bending the torso down destabilizes the air. Restore an ungrabbed compact air before retrying.
Editorial assessment
Look for correct contact, preserved trajectory and a deliberate release. A touch and a sustained hold can be recorded separately.
