HOW TO DO IT

Chatter Phase Investigation

Test loading, support, surface and equipment hypotheses before prescribing a stronger cue.

Preparation and setting

Regained easy-terrain control; known stop; suitable patch and observer if available.

Exercise sequence

  1. Describe edge, phase and repeated/intermittent event.
  2. Inspect obvious surface/equipment changes.
  3. Ride easier baseline.
  4. Test smoother effort at similar shape.
  5. Separately test earlier useful support if finish demand dominates.
  6. Compare both edges and repeat useful change.
  7. Keep unresolved cause when tests fail.

Transfer

Transfer to short pair and record correction/retest; do not claim a universal cure.

Errors addressed

Late repeated grabbing; Surface-specific vibration; More tilt worsens event; Equipment uncertainty.

Success check

Observed improvement is repeatable under stated conditions and linked to the tested change.

Simplify when needed

Stop reproducing severe event; use easier task or direct assessment if attachment/grip remains uncertain.
