Drill

Contact-outcome check

distinguish intended absorption from unintended launch.

HOW TO DO IT

Contact-outcome check

distinguish intended absorption from unintended launch.

Preparation and setting

Required: controlled glide, directional stability and a reliable stop beyond the roller. Use a low, inspected feature with a visible far side and no crossing traffic. A blind natural knoll is not equivalent. Do not use an active jump line as a slow absorption practice lane without the operator's appropriate arrangement.

Exercise task

  1. use a repeatable low-demand approach and observe the board through the crest. Record grounded contact, brief separation or deliberate pop as different outcomes. If separation occurs, reduce approach demand or select a rounder feature before adding more flexion.

Transfer and success check

AMTA-01 bump absorption. Success requires both the intended contact outcome and a controlled exit. A quiet head with an uncontrolled board is not a pass.

Regression

a single shallow undulation.

Progression

two grounded rollers with separate recovery.
