Drill

Corridor traverse comparison

separate edge support from bump absorption.

HOW TO DO IT

Corridor traverse comparison

separate edge support from bump absorption.

Preparation and setting

Demonstrate a smooth-snow toe traverse and controlled toe stop first. Use a short crossing with a visible finish, checking traffic before entry. Do not traverse an entire busy run to complete an exercise. If the edge cannot hold a manageable route on the actual surface, choose a different area instead of making the traverse faster.

Exercise task

  1. ride a smooth toe traverse to an agreed finish, then a nearby equivalent traverse containing one small rise. Hold the same intended direction, not an exact speed at any cost.

Observe and diagnose

Observe: whether drift begins during flexion, during extension or before the feature. Correction use: if drift appears only when the knees flex, reduce flexion range and preserve toe-edge support; if it begins beforehand, revisit the smooth baseline.

Transfer and success check

enter and leave one bump turn without a line change caused by the absorption itself. Stop the drill if the crossing lane is no longer clear.

Regression

smaller surface variation.

Progression

another rise, then heel-side practice.
