Term

Counterrotation

Coordinated opposing rotations of body regions, commonly the upper body relative to the legs and board.

GLOSSARY · Movement & mechanics

The term describes relative movement. It may help orient the board during a turn, shifty or exit, but the observed action must be distinguished from rotation of the complete rider-board system.

Context and distinction

The general concept is retained here; the atlas Counter-rotation card describes its freestyle use.
