HOW TO DO IT

Early Return to Ordinary Riding

Build recovery while support and movement range remain available.

Preparation and setting

One familiar modest arc, initially no contact; safe ordinary opposite turn and stopping exit.

Exercise sequence

  1. Choose a depth from which some return is already controlled. State the intended next ordinary action.
  2. Begin leg shortening earlier than in the failed deeper task, keeping trunk/pelvis coordinated.
  3. Bring the board closer beneath the body while preserving the arc’s usable support.
  4. Resume ordinary mobile riding and complete the planned opposite turn or stop.
  5. Repeat on each edge separately. Add depth only while this return remains functional; do not practise an intentional stall.

Transfer

Use the same return timing with a short contact window, then in ED15. Recovery success is condition-specific.

Errors addressed

Late recovery; Arm-lever return; Aft arrival after shortening.

Observable success

The rider returns without hand leverage or abrupt pop and can perform the next ordinary action.

Regression

Reduce depth and contact to zero. If ordinary control remains uncertain, return to the previous carving package rather than force an escape.
