Term
Shifty
An aerial board/body orientation change followed by a return, rather than completion of an equivalent whole-body spin.
GLOSSARY · Freestyle & trick grammar
In a shifty the rider twists the board one way under the body in the air, then brings it back before landing. The shoulders stay roughly in place while the legs turn the board.
Context and distinction
A shifty returns to the original orientation; a spin keeps going. A rewind reverses an actual rotation, which a shifty does not.
