Term

Rewind

A reversal or return in rotational movement within a trick or exit sequence.

GLOSSARY · Freestyle & trick grammar

Specify which part reverses and when. In a shifty-like movement the board can return relative to the torso; in jib terminology the label may describe an exit against the preceding rotational flow.

Context and distinction

A visible board reversal does not necessarily mean reversal of the whole system’s angular momentum.

HOW TO DO IT

Rewind

A visible board/body rotation reverses during an air in the source terminology; it is not reversal of the entire body's net angular momentum without external torque.

Preparation and setting

Established straight airs and modest shifty control; named variants need source-specific review.

Known phases / unresolved execution

  1. Compare upper-body and board headings.
  2. Identify the original direction and visible reversal.
  3. Separate board-relative motion from whole-body spin.
  4. Use existing modest shifty positioning and deliberate unwind as related component work.
  5. Do not infer a complete named Rewind curriculum.

Learning and practice

Review which segment changes direction and when. Related shifty practice is not a verified reproduction pathway.

Errors, limits and corrections

Confusing counterrotation with creating whole-body angular momentum in flight.

Observable checks

Movement interpretation is clear; exact named timing and variant remain incomplete.

editorial review notes

Official coding-list name only. Classification and mechanics remain pending; a code does not establish an independent teachable trick.

02

Additional editorial review notes

This visible board/body motion is not evidence that total angular momentum reverses without external torque. Keep distinct from a slide exit reversing entry direction.
