Drill

Grip-Loss Branch Test

Distinguish unsupported balance, tail departure, surface mismatch and suspected contact.

HOW TO DO IT

Grip-Loss Branch Test

Distinguish unsupported balance, tail departure, surface mismatch and suspected contact.

Preparation and setting

Regained easy control and stopping; modest tasks; no deliberate search for boot-out at higher tilt.

Exercise sequence

  1. Describe first event rather than final fall.
  2. Inspect stationary equipment clearance/contact signs.
  3. Try simpler short traverse/J-carve.
  4. Test reduced inside movement.
  5. Separately test distribution/twist or rotary disturbance.
  6. Adapt equipment/task if contact remains plausible.
  7. Recheck short task, then pair.

Transfer

Use with CD01/CD10/CD15 and a deliberate blend exit.

Errors addressed

Inside tip labelled boot-out; Tail slip from untested cause; Surface limit ignored; Greater force prescribed blindly.

Success check

Cause remains a tested hypothesis; simpler task and pair improve without unverified numerical clearance claims.

Simplify when needed

Do not escalate tilt to reproduce contact; retain unresolved status and obtain direct setup/technique assessment.
