HOW TO DO IT
Grounded Extension-Based Pair
Develop a modest higher transition without a hop or locked position.
Preparation and setting
Established linked skidded turns, individual clean arcs and stop; gentle smooth known terrain.
Exercise sequence
- Rehearse modest taller/lower range.
- In skidded pair become taller through selected connection without locking.
- Develop next arc with progressive available flexion.
- Stop and compare support/contact.
- Transfer to familiar carved pair only after grounded version works.
- Reduce intensity if board leaves snow.
Transfer
Compare with ordinary and flexion-based strategy; airborne variants are separate.
Errors addressed
Unintended hop; Locked tall stance; Abrupt collapse after edge change; Tail throw masquerading as unload.
Success check
Grounded pair remains supported, with clean useful arcs and a deliberate exit.
Simplify when needed
Return to slower skidded pair or stationary range; remove carved demand first.
