Drill
No-Contact Toe-Side Lowering
Develop supported lowering without chasing snow contact.
HOW TO DO IT
No-Contact Toe-Side Lowering
Develop supported lowering without chasing snow contact.
Preparation and setting
Repeatable toe-side baseline, clearance review, visible quiet smooth lane and reliable recovery.
Exercise sequence
- Make a familiar toe arc with hands clear of snow and record its path.
- Repeat with a small additional supported inward movement while retaining leg range.
- Keep pelvis and ribcage coordinated; do not lower the head independently by folding the waist.
- Recover early and complete an ordinary heel turn or stop.
- Compare support and return before enlarging depth. If a reach appears, remove it on the next shallower repeat.
Transfer
Move to ED13 only with direct observation and after ED12 contact literacy. The hands remain optional.
Errors addressed
Waist fold replacing lowering; Unsupported drop; Leading-end overload.
Observable success
The lower toe position retains usable support, mobile range and a predictable ordinary exit.
Regression
Use the ordinary toe baseline or ED06 smaller cycle. Re-establish support before changing body depth.
