HOW TO DO IT

Planned Skid–Edge–Skid Segment

Choose a blended outcome and retain an intentional exit from carving.

Preparation and setting

Skidded control/stop and short edged segment established; suitable gentle lane.

Exercise sequence

  1. Name intended phases and stopping route.
  2. Make controlled skidded entry.
  3. Develop useful tilt as lateral displacement reduces.
  4. Hold short edged segment.
  5. Reduce engagement appropriately and introduce familiar controlled sideways travel.
  6. Shape and stop on working edge.
  7. Inspect whether changes occurred where planned.

Transfer

Use in resort tactics; high-speed emergency stopping is a different task.

Errors addressed

Holding purity beyond space; Abrupt release catch; No clean segment emerges; Unplanned performance change.

Success check

Blend and finish remain supported, visible and deliberate inside corridor.

Simplify when needed

Practise only one change per attempt or return to traverse/stop components.
