Quiet-Arm Orientation Rehearsal
HOW TO DO IT
Quiet-Arm Orientation Rehearsal
Distinguish head, shoulder and pelvis movement and find a usable coordinated range.
Preparation and setting
Stationary supported stance on a suitable surface, boots secured. Movement stays comfortable; no forced loaded pose.
Exercise sequence
- Identify board direction, leading foot, pelvis and shoulder line. Turn the head gently while leaving the trunk quiet to distinguish those actions.
- Make a small coordinated pelvis/trunk orientation change. Keep arms close enough that an arm swing does not become the movement.
- Return smoothly. Observe whether the pelvis shifts far over one foot or the knees feel forced.
- Compare the opposite direction with smaller range if necessary. Record asymmetry rather than forcing equal visual angles.
- Choose a range that can be used in a modest riding task; stationary range alone is not readiness for contact.
Transfer
Transfer to ED04 at small amplitude. Recheck under motion rather than assume the stationary picture will remain functional.
Errors addressed
Neck-only rotation; Excess shoulder twist; Forced source-picture posture.
Observable success
Learner identifies the moving segments and returns without a forced knee position or arm fling.
Regression
Reduce range or perform supported unstrapped movement literacy off the riding task. Restore normal secured equipment for all riding.
