HOW TO DO IT

Readiness Lane and Deliberate Exit

Establish the controls and space needed to end an edged task intentionally.

Preparation and setting

Suitable quiet visible gentle groomer; equipment checked; both-edge stopping established.

Exercise sequence

  1. Inspect lane, cross-slope traffic and empty stopping margin.
  2. Ride familiar skidded turns and deliberately stop on each edge.
  3. Stationary, inspect secure attachment and toe/heel clearance at modest supported tilts.
  4. Rehearse the planned look and exit.
  5. Try a short low-demand edge segment, then use the familiar stop.

Transfer

Use before every new carving task or material terrain/setup change; static inspection does not prove dynamic clearance.

Errors addressed

Missing exit; Unsuitable terrain; Suspected equipment contact; Forward skill disappears under too many demands.

Success check

Short task ends upright within its margin; the rider explains the route, exit and equipment questions.

Simplify when needed

Return to familiar stopping and a simpler lane; address suspect equipment before adding demand.
