Term

Rear foot

The foot described as rear under a stated reference convention: either the usual rear binding or the foot trailing in current travel.

GLOSSARY · Orientation & naming

This term is useful only when the reference is clear. A rider travelling switch keeps the same physical bindings, but the current leading and trailing roles reverse.

Context and distinction

Rear foot is not automatically the same as trailing foot in every source.
