Trailing foot

The foot behind in the current direction of travel.

GLOSSARY · Orientation & naming

The trailing foot is whichever foot is behind in the current direction of travel. It often controls pivoting and tail-based actions such as ollies, and it swaps with the leading foot when the rider changes direction.

Context and distinction

Trailing foot is not the same as rear foot: in switch the rider's usual front foot becomes the trailing foot.
