HOW TO DO IT

Short Heel J-Carve

Join controlled along-board travel to a rounded heel-edge arc.

Preparation and setting

Clean short heel traverse and glide; suitable arc space and planned familiar exit.

Exercise sequence

  1. Choose arc and stopping route.
  2. Rehearse modest supported heel tilt.
  3. Start shortest useful glide.
  4. Develop engagement without arm/hip throw.
  5. Keep both feet available as path rounds.
  6. Finish through chosen exit and inspect assessed segment.

Transfer

Prepare linked pairs; identify approach, engagement and finish separately.

Errors addressed

Pivoted entry; Tailward retreat; Approach too long; Late exit.

Success check

Rounded clean useful segment and deliberate finish are repeatable at the chosen demand.

Simplify when needed

Repair CD04 or glide/stop components; shorten start before adding intensity.
